Yeah we thought we’d put something up on TheSuburban.net about the 2010 Federal Election.
It’s pretty boring so far… but here’s a cool video to jazz things up!
… Oh, and if you want to tell us how boring you think it is then post it below!

Motorists had better watch out now with the NSW Police Force introducing mobile speed cameras. But the thing is, haven’t we already had them in the past?
What used to happen to you when you’d see a policeman hiding behind a bush with his gun? You’d get booked.
So isn’t this just the same thing?
Seriously, why are people getting so uptight about it as if it’s something we’ve never seen before. And to make things more interesting, the RTA have released a document listing the apparent locations of these mobile speed cameras.
Surely these locations cannot be 100% correct. The document looks to just be a list of locations where we’ve seen the most number of accidents. So why would the RTA list the locations of the speed cameras? Wouldn’t that only make it easier for speeding motorists to avoid the listed areas? If so, then so much for everybody being up in arms about the matter.

Kevin Rudd has been out voted and has stood aside as Australia’s Prime Minister following a caucus meeting. This means that his close team member Julia Gillard will now take his place as our first female PM.
But for how long?
Gillard is expected to announce an election in September/October 2010 and this could potentially mean a very short term for the new PM.
Speaking of short-term Prime Minister’s, Kevin Rudd wasn’t fortunate to even serve one full term as our nations leader. So what does this mean for the Milky Bar kid? Will this leave him scarred if he was to stick around in politics? And what about his CV? It’s not that good saying you were only PM for less than a term…
So what do you think of Julia Gillard as our Prime Minister? And under these circumstances, how do you now feel about Kevin Rudd? Will we see much change to Australia’s Government policies? And will Julia have enough time in parliament to make any changes??
Apple have just launched their latest iPhone… the iPhone 4. Well it looks pretty fancy… but is it worth getting rid of the old one just yet?
It’s got a camera on the front, has a better quality screen, and looks a tad more slicker than its predecessor. But what really sets it apart from the old iPhone?
Will you be purchasing or trading in your old iPhone? And more importantly, how long ago did you buy your current iPhone? Is it just too much money going out too soon?
Apple has launched its brand new iPad to Australia. The question on our lips is whether or not people really need an iPad?
First, it was the iPod that allowed users to hold a sh*tload of music on a very tiny device. Then it was the idea of combining that technology with a regular mobile phone – making the iPhone. And now… well… what the hell does an iPad allow you to do?
Ok, so it’s some kind of computer on a tabular shaped screen. You could probably misplace it for a place mat… or even use it as one. But so what, if you can read newspapers, books and other readable stuff on a screen. Can’t a computer already do that with a thing called the internet? Can’t your mobile phone do it already with a thing called… mobile internet?
Is the iPad really worth the money? And more importantly, is it really worth the technology?
Where will the iPad lead Apple to next? Or are they beginning to get a little iOverdone?

Mother’s Day is this Sunday and the team at TheSuburban.net have N.F.I. what to buy their mums. Thats why we’re asking you! What gifts can we buy for mum? Any ideas other than roses and chocolates?
We need your help… and fast!
A uni student has been let off after calling a police officer a “prick”. The magistrate found that the word would not offend a “reasonable person”.
It’s fair enough when the term is used amongst mates in an appropriate context, but to say something like that to a policeman or somebody higher above in society, the issue must surely be taken more seriously.
Will this recent event now lead to more “offensive” words used towards our law enforcers? If so, will they be as lenient to the offenders in the future?
In a very sudden move PM Kevin Rudd has increased the price of cigarettes by 25% – which is on average $2.16 per packet. In addition to this, the Government has announced that as of July 1, 2010 there is to be new plain packaging on all cigarette packets.
Isn’t it amazing how the Government are doing their best at turning people off smoking, yet at the same time, they rightfully know that by raising the prices it will just mean more money for them. Is this a ‘win-win situation’ for K-Rudd and his team?
More importantly, would the removal of coloured packaging and labelling on cigarette packets be enough to turn off smokers? At the end of the day what are smokers doing? Checking out packs or smoking cigarettes?
Well once again the question has been brought up, “Does Australia need a new flag?” In a recent public debate on ’60 Minutes’, it seemed there are quite a significant number of Australians who think yes. But is it the majority?
So what if we’re no longer as close to our English cousins as we once were. But we need to remember the fact that the purpose of a nation’s flag is to represent a country. And that can include a country’s history (hence leaving the flag as it is).
Besides, a new design for our flag will only further divide the citizens of Australia. Because who will guarantee that everybody will like the new design?
Not everyone can have their cake and eat it too. So why don’t we just leave things as they are for the time being.
